About the MGA

The Missouri Groundwater Association (MGA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 that provides the opportunity for groundwater professionals to meet and exchange ideas. In addition, the organization actively promotes interaction between industry and academia by encouraging students to present at our conference. Our annual conference provides a forum to help foster developments in the technical and regulatory aspects of the industry.

2008 Conference Agenda

The 2008 Annual Conference has been scheduled for March 7th, 2008. Please mark your calendar and plan to be there! The conference agenda can be viewed by clicking on the link above.

The 2008 conference will be held at the University of Missouri Alumni Center in Columbia, Missouri. The conference will feature a keynote address by Ryan Mueller, Director of the Department of Natural Resources Water Resources Center. Ryan will discuss the expansion of the DNRs water level monitoring system and the information and features available to groundwater professionals on the Centers web page.

Another scheduled talk will be presented by Jim Alexander of the DNR. Jim will discuss the failure of the Taum Sauk reservoir and the ongoing restoration efforts. Come and see some spectacular photographs of the devastation and the cleanup.

The agenda for the conference will be updated and posted to this website, listing presenters, topics and times. Please check back often to see what topics of interest will be presented. If possible, abstracts of the presentations will also be posted.

2007 Conference

The MGA Annual Conference was held on March 9, 2007 at the University Club of MU in Columbia, Missouri. Over 40 persons from industry, regulatory agencies, consultants, and academia attended the conference. All attendees received a certificate for 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU).
